IS THE VAN EASY TO DRIVE?
Yes! The Toyota Alphard is the 'Lexus of campervans'. Excellent driving position, smooth automatic gearbox, plenty of power for motorways yet easy to drive on country roads. It also has a colour reversing camera to assist with parking in cities. Comfortable, quiet and smooth with plenty of power (and very economical if run on LPG) - a real pleasure to drive.
HOW DO I MAKE A BOOKING?

HOW LONG DO I NEED TO HAVE HELD A LICENSE?
You must have held a full driving license for a minimum of 2 years to satisfy our insurers.
CAN I BRING MY DOG?
Absolutely! Dogs are very welcome at Trossachs Campers, there's no better way to enjoy the great outdoors than with your furry friend. An additional £25 cleaning charge is applied to hires with pets.
IS THERE A MILEAGE LIMIT?
No. You can roam as far and wide as you wish. Plus, with a bi-fuel engine you can choose to drive on either petrol or LPG - approx £0.79 per litre with a 325 mile range (https://www.autogas.app/).
WILL I BE SHOWN HOW THE VAN WORKS?
Yes of course, we will provide a full handover (which will take approximately 45minutes) and a handbook and will be contactable throughout the hire should you have any further questions.
IS THERE SOMEWHERE SECURE TO PARK MY CAR?
Free indoor, secure parking is available with all hires. Please note that vehicles are left at the owner's risk.
ARE DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE FOR LONGER HIRES?
Yes, please message us to discuss. We also have a business membership with the Caravan & Camping Club which means reduced rates on bookings.
HOW MANY PEOPLE DOES THE VAN SLEEP?
It has a 2 berth rock & roll bed and a pop top which could accommodate 2 small children. The inflatable drive away awning provides additional space for either storage of sleeping.
DOES THE VAN HAVE HEATING?
Yes, the van has a heating system which runs off of gas and is subject to an annual inspection by a gas engineer (original certificate in van).
CAN YOU ARRANGE TRANSFERS FROM AIRPORTS OR TRAIN STATIONS?
We may be able to organise collection and drop off. Please contact us at info@trossachscampers.co.uk to discuss your requirements.
WHAT IF I BREAKDOWN?
Toyota vehicles are renowned for their reliability. However, in the unlikely event of a breakdown, please contact Trossachs Campers and we will arrange for the RAC to attend.
CAN I TAKE THE VAN OUTSIDE OF THE UK?
Yes, however, our insurer will charge an additional premium. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and we will advise on additional costs.
WHY DO I NEED TO PAY A £500 INSURANCE EXCESS?
Pretty much all campervan hire companies in the UK are insured by the same insurance provider, as this type of hire is regarded as 'high risk', a fully refundable (in the result of no damage) insurance excess is required to be paid in advance by the hirer in order for the insurance agreement to be valid.
DOES INSURANCE COVER PERSONAL BELONGINGS?
No. Personal items are not covered by the vehicle insurance. We recommend you take out travel insurance for your personal belongings and valuables.
